I had the 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 USM, which is generally said to be similar to the 75-300 in optical quality. I thought that digital cameras were a fad much like the Kodak Disc camera and APS film, fun to play with perhaps but not really capable of serious photography. In general though, you can evaluate detail in the bricks, shingles and window detail, and in the tree branches against the sky. If you're feeling happy, then be happy :-)
